A big shaggy monster with two curved horns, small round eyes, two little teeth and a smooth oval belly. This free monster coloring page is mostly fur — the outline is drawn as hundreds of short ragged strokes, so the whole silhouette has texture to work with.
Who this page is for
Ages 4–9. The belly and horns are simple blocks for a quick win, and the furry body is open-ended: solid color, layered shades, or a different color per patch.
Things to talk about while you color
- The word “monster” comes from a Latin root meaning to warn or to show — originally a monster was a sign, not a threat.
- Almost every country has its own friendly household monster in folklore, and most of them are more mischievous than dangerous.
- Horns on real animals are bone covered in keratin — the same material as your fingernails.
Make it an activity
Give the monster a name and one thing it is afraid of before coloring starts. Children who decide the monster is scared of the dark tend to draw it much more gently.
How to print it so it looks great
Choose Fit to page on A4 or US Letter. The furry edge has a lot of fine points — print at full size so they stay separate.

The other friendly ones: Frankenstein, the little vampire, the waving mummy and the ghost. Full set on the Halloween coloring pages page.
