A small mummy standing with both arms up, waving, wrapped head to toe in loose bandages with two eyes peeking out. This free mummy coloring page is essentially one long stripe pattern wrapped around a body shape.
Who this page is for
Ages 3–8. The bandage bands are wide and clearly separated, which makes this one of the best pages in the set for practising staying inside a line without much effort.
Things to talk about while you color
- Real mummy wrappings could run to hundreds of metres of linen on a single body, wound in careful layers.
- Ancient Egyptians mummified animals too — cats, birds, even crocodiles.
- The bandages were not white when new. Linen goes cream and brown with age, which is why mummies look the color they do.
Make it an activity
Try alternating two colors band by band, all the way from the head to the feet, without breaking the pattern. It looks striking when it is finished and it is surprisingly hard to keep going.
How to print it so it looks great
Use Fit to page on A4 or US Letter. Many narrow bands means many edges — this paper comparison covers what stops markers spreading across them.
