Who this page is for

Dinosaur facts to share while you color

• A pterodactyl wasn’t technically a dinosaur — it was a flying reptile called a pterosaur that lived alongside the dinosaurs.
• Its wings were made of skin stretched from a very long fourth finger all the way to its ankles, a bit like a bat.
• Some pterosaurs were as small as a sparrow; the biggest had wingspans as wide as a small airplane.

Make it an activity

Fold the finished page in half along the body and you have a pterodactyl that “flies” when you flap it. Or cut it out, punch a hole in the back and hang it from a string so it soars over the craft table.
