Dinosaur facts to share while you color

• Brontosaurus means “thunder lizard.” For a while scientists thought it was the same as Apatosaurus, but in 2015 it got its own name back.
• Its neck could be longer than a school bus, yet its head was about the size of a horse’s.
• Long-necked dinosaurs probably couldn’t lift their heads straight up like a giraffe — they swept them side to side to graze.

Make it an activity

Measure how long a brontosaurus really was by pacing it out: about 22 meters, or roughly 30 kid-steps. Then come back and color the page with a new sense of how big “big” is.
